Fishers Town Council Approves Brewery Deal

August 19, 2014 Updated Aug 19, 2014 at 7:53 AM EST

FISHERS, Ind. (21Alive) -- Sun King Brewing's planned expansion in Fishers was approved yesterday by the town council.

The plan for a second brewery location and tasting room was approved unanimously by the Fisher's town council. Sun King is Indiana's second largest brewer and has said it plans on spending around $9 Million on the expansion.

The new location is just off I-69 on 96th St. in Fishers. The company will keep its current location in downtown Indianapolis, as the new location is needed to increase production.

Along with the needed space to meet demand, the owners plan on building a large tasting room that will accommodate 450 people. The overall vision is to make the new location a "destination" for Indiana.
