AUBURN Ind. (www.incnow.tv) -- A woman who escaped the custody of the DeKalb County Sheriff's Department has been apprehended in Fort Wayne.

Shelby C. Riedel, 21, slipped out of her handcuffs and fled Wednesday afternoon while being escorted with other inmates back to DeKalb County Jail, according to the sheriff's department.

Police say a tipster says Riedel had been picked up and taken to a Fort Wayne motel. Fort Wayne police went to the motel, but Riedel had already left.

Riedel was found Wednesday night, and taken into custody. The DeKalb County Sheriff's Department did not say where in Fort Wayne she was apprehended.
