Early Morning Shooting In Indianapolis Leaves Seven Injured

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (21Alive) -- A shooting in Broad Ripple saw seven people get injured early Saturday morning.

The shooting occurred at about 2:30 a.m. outside of a shoe repair shop.

Six men and one woman were injured during the shooting. One man is in critical condition at St. Vincent Hospital. Police said that none of the other victims had life-threatening injuries.

Indianapolis police and emergency medical personnel responded to the shooting. Most of the witnesses had cleared out by the time they arrived. One witness described the scene as chaotic with people running in all directions.

Investigators are questioning a person of interest. The person has been taken into custody. The events prior to the shooting are unknown at this time.

Roads were closed after the shooting until 9:00 a.m. but some businesses in the area remain closed.
