MUNCIE, Ind. (21Alive) -- Around 11:30 a.m., Ball State Alert tweeted out that there was a bomb threat at Burris Lab School. They said to avoid the area, particularly University Ave. & Gilbert.

According to the Twitter account, the decision to evacuate or secure in place is determined based on where individuals will be safest. "A threat is not assumed to be inside the building. Evacuation is not always the safest response to a bomb threat," the tweets said.

No word has been given on whether a device was found.
