FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) – It seems everyone is talking about change, but a local organization is actually doing something to make that happen in their community.

Courageous Healing, LLC held its first community event Saturday night, called "Not So Common Sense: How Did Our Generation Get Here?" Nearly 150 people, young and old, attended the event inside the Black Box Theater and Arts Lab in downtown Fort Wayne.

The event was a panel discussion aimed at young people in Fort Wayne, and how they can fix and keep from falling victim to the issues that face them today. Issues such as being financially responsible, not needing instant gratification and working hard toward their goals, and how to become the change they want to see in their community.

“Our generation needs to be held accountable. We need to stand up and make that change. The change we seek as a community has to start with us. If we don't stand up on our own two feet, start to do the things that need to be done, things will never change,” said Co-Founder Aaron Lane.

Courageous Healing, LLC offers counseling, consulting and community outreach services at a low cost. Lane says this is just one of many events they have planned for the future.
