Allen County, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - Fort Wayne, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - The Fort Wayne man accused of driving drunk while kids were strapped to the hood of his car was sentenced in court on Friday.
Last month 29-year-old Aaron Stefanski took the offered plea deal and pleaded guilty to four counts, three for neglect of a dependent and one operating while intoxicated.
The plea deal says he cannot have any contact with the four children outside of supervised visits at SCAN and must complete parenting classes.
He will serve one and a half years on home detention and two and a half years on probation.
Stefanski tied his 4, 5 and 6-year-olds and another 7-year-old to the hood of his car in the parking lot of Belmont Beverage on May 7th and made it several blocks before he was pulled over.
He told police he thought the kids would "enjoy the ride."
His blood alcohol content was more than twice the legal limit.

The mother of one of the children, 29-year-old Jessica Clark, is charged with one felony count of neglect of a dependent, where the child was put in a situation endangering the dependent's life.
