FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) - New legislation will be introduced to Fort Wayne City Council to provide $800,000 in Legacy Funds to World Baseball Academy.

Councilman Tom Didier, R-District 3, says he and Councilman Geoff Paddock, D-District 5, will introduce the legislation at next Tuesday's meeting.

The World Baseball Academy would have to raise $1.6 million in private funds to qualify for the funds.

If Council approves a proposed Legacy Fund Review Panel at next Tuesday's meeting, the panel could review Didier's proposal at a later date.
