FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) – The 15th Annual State of the 6th District address was held early Saturday morning. The purpose is to allow people of the 6th District of Fort Wayne to voice their opinions and concerns to City Councilman Glynn Hines as well as other city officials.

This year the 6th district, which is considered the southeast side of Fort Wayne, has been able to house a health care facility that cost $1.5 million dollars and a community resource center will be built in place of the McMillen Ice Rink in June.

Hines says he wants to give people an idea of what's been achieved over the past year and what still needs to be done.

“Citizens need to be able to talk to either their elected officials or those department heads that impact their quality of life by the decisions that they make. They get a chance today at the State of the 6th District to see those individuals up close and personal and ask those questions,” said Hines.

Hines says the community resource center will be a major opportunity for the 6th District area.
