FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) -- It's Monday and that means Martin Fisher is back for another edition of "Cool Science Monday."

This week Martin is taking a look at Science Central's two newest rats, Pinky and The Brain. One is reportedly a genius and the other insane.

Rats are in an Order of Mammals called Rodentia, which includes mice. The study of mammals is called mammalogy, and a scientist who studies mammals is called a mammologist. Rats can live in many different types of environments.

Their adaptations, such as good senses of smell/hearing/sight, speed with good balance and climbing abilities, and ability to eat many types of foods, have allowed rats to be successful in natural and human environments.
