MADISON, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) -- A 700-foot section of the Old Milton-Madison Bridge was sent to the Ohio River below Tuesday.

Workers rigged the structure with controlled explosives and took it down shortly after 9:15 a.m. Onlookers gathered nearby to watch the impressive one-shot fireworks show.

The bridges demolition has come in phases with some beams and ramps being removed at various times since last year.

The new $103-million Milton-Madison Bridge will be completed later this summer.
