AUBURN, Ind. (21Alive) – Fighting continues in Ukraine as the Ukrainian Army attempts to seize control of rebel strongholds.
Separatists have since called for reinforcements from Russia to send aid.
Russia has since denied arming these separatists and describes the Russian citizens in eastern Ukraine as volunteers.
Earlier this week, 21Alive talked to the Deputy Consulate General of Poland when he visited the World War II Museum in Auburn, and got his thoughts on the crisis in the bordering country.
“We are very concerned with what is going on in Ukraine. I think we should be thinking how to prevent the development of this crisis because it can very easy become something more serious which no one wants,” said Dep. Consulate General Robert Rusiecki.
Both Ukraine and Russia are accusing one another of shooting down the Malaysian airliner that killed 298 people.
