FORT WAYNE, Ind (21Alive) -- Concordia Lutheran High School is hosting a "Kids Against Hunger" event today in an effort to provide aid to those suffering in the Philippines.

The goal is to assemble packages containing more than 250,000 meals to help aid those displaced in the Philippines as a result of Typhoon Haiyan. Haiyan was one of the deadliest typhoons in history and left more than 6 million people displaced, along with 2 million left homeless.

Concordia students will be joined by students from other schools within the Lutheran Schools Partnership and the event is the expected to include nearly a thousand total students.
