FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) -- Police are investigating a case where a 2-year-old with a .27% Blood Alcohol Content, was taken to a hospital.
According to police, the 2-year-old was brought in by ambulance. A caretaker for the child said that he/she may have drunk vodka. The caretaker told police that they had put the child to bed around 7:30 or 8 p.m. and someone was drinking vodka while watching TV upstairs.
The caretaker told police that they went downstairs to smoke and when the came back upstairs they found that the child was awake. While trying to get the toddler back to sleep, the child was vomiting and became non-responsive. The caretaker told police they rolled the child to its side but when they couldn't wake the him/her up they called EMS.
The child was later transported to the pediatric intensive care unit.
