FORT WAYNE, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) -- Fort Wayne Police Chief, Rusty York, is speaking out about accusations that an officer fired a weapon to disperse a crowd outside of Belvedere Lounge Sunday morning.

A woman in that crowd was shot and taken to the hospital in serious condition after a large group spilled into the parking lot at closing time.

According to York, Former Fort Wayne/AllenCounty NAACP President Paulette Nellem's contacted him when she heard her daughter was shot by police. He says that claim is false and there is no evidence to back it up.

York added that they are still looking for suspect information, despite there being around 300 people at the scene.
