Fort Wayne, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) - The law firm Carson Boxberger is moving into a brand new space in The Harrison in downtown Fort Wayne. The move leaves their previous downtown home empty for now, but the Fort Wayne Allen County Economic Development Alliance assures this is all still driving growth in downtown.
"You'd be surprised to know that the vacancy rate in downtown Fort Wayne has actually been decreasing since 2009 which is good news. There have been a number of companies that have moved back into the central core of downtown,” said Ashley Steenman, Vice President of Business Development, Fort Wayne Allen County Economic Development Alliance.
Steenman says the newly developed Harrison is modeled after what many larger communities have tried and had success with. The Harrison is dubbed a ‘live play, work’ environment. It has office space, apartment homes and restaurants. The firm’s new offices are very contemporary and overlook Parkview Field.
"To continue growing their firm they needed a larger space and quite frankly if they want to attract the talent from other communities and have top notch attorneys they probably need to have a space that is modern and chic that is attractive to those people as well,” said Ashley Steenman, Vice President of Business Development, Fort Wayne Allen County Economic Development Alliance.
Although this puts a new space in the market, Steenman says since 2009 the vacant office space in downtown has decreased by more than ten percent.
