ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) -- Southwest Allen County residents probably noticed a brown tint to their water Monday night and Tuesday morning.

According to officials with Aqua Indiana, a contractor working on SR 114 near W. Hamilton Rd. hit a water main causing built up sediment in the pipes to enter the water supply.

Crews were out all night flushing out the water through hydrants and officials say the water should be back to normal by Tuesday evening.

Testing still shows adequate chlorine levels meaning the water is safe to use and drink. Southwest Allen County residents are also encouraged to flush out their own pipes at home.
