BOONE COUNTY, Ind. (www.theindychannel.com) -- Lebanon police are investigating after a body was found in a fishing pond in Boone County.
Officials were dispatched about 11:20 Tuesday morning to the Boone County Conservation Club at 701 E. Noble St., where they found a body floating in the pond.
The club is a private organization, and keys are needed to get into the gate of the 19-acre property. The pond is surrounded by thick brush and a 6-foot fence with barbed wire, police said.
Two men were clearing brush at the pond when they saw the body and alerted police.
Officials said the body is a middle-aged white male and was partially clothed. Investigators said there is no obvious cause of death.
An autopsy has been scheduled for Tuesday afternoon to determine the cause of death and positively identify the victim.
Police are treating the area like a crime scene.
Dive teams were called in to do a water search, and additional departments will be called to assist in the investigation of the grounds.
