FORT WAYNE, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) - Bishop Emeritus John D'Arcy has returned to Fort Wayne, the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend announced Friday.

The bishop had been in his native Boston since being diagnosed with lung and brain cancer while visiting family over Christmas.

"It's good to be home," D'Arcy said in a statement released by the diocese.

"I wish to thank Bishop Rhoades and all the people of our beloved Diocese for the prayers of so many," he adds. "They are an enormous consolation. Please continue them."

In an exclusive interview with Melissa Long, which aired in two parts earlier this week, the bishop, 80, says he is accepting his medical condition. (part 1 - part 2)

"Pray that my YES to God and His Will, be full and whole-hearted and never begrudging."
