INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (21Alive) -- Republican Rep. Bill Davis of Portland announced he is resigning from the eastern Indiana seat he's held for nine years.
He will be taking a position with Governor Pence's administration as the Executive Director of the state's Office of Community and Rural Affairs.. His last day on the job will be November 3.
Davis is known for many things including crafting a bill creating the "In God We Trust" license plates.
