FORT WAYNE, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) -- February is American Heart Month and last night, as a kick-off to the events that will continue all month, the lights of the MLK Bridge were all turned red.

Additionally, Parkview Hospital adorned all newborns in red hats Friday morning. In an effort to increase awareness of the No. 1 killer of women, officials with the American Heart Association donated approximately 300 red caps to Parkview Regional Medical Center and Parkview Hospital Randallia.

These caps were made by several knitting and crochet groups in Indianapolis and Fort Wayne and helped these babes participate in National Wear Red Day.

Other events will take place this month in the fight against cardiovascular disease in women. Join the community and wear red this month.
