Allen County Sheriff's Dept. Warns Of Phone Scam

ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) -- The Allen County Sheriff's Department is warning residents about a phone scam where residence are being threatened with arrest if they don't pay an owed debt.

The Sheriff's Department has received several phone calls in the past few days that residence are being contacted by telephone and informed that they owe a debt. The victims are then being informed that if they do not send money, a warrant will be issued for their arrest.

They are further informed that the Sheriff or a Federal Agent will come to the residence and arrest them.

The Sheriff's Department is asking that anyone who receives a call soliciting money based on the above scenario contact Corporal Jeremy Tinkel at 260-449-7294 or 260-615-6715.
