INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (21Alive) -- Indiana Governor Mike Pence announced that Allen County will be receiving Federal grants for the winter storms that hit Indiana from January 5-9.

The January snowstorm popularly termed the "Polar Vortex" has resulted in 29 Indiana counties receiving Federal assistance. Allen County will now be able to receive FEMA Public Assistance and Snow Assistance grants that will pay 75% of eligible expenses for damaged roads, utilities, bridges, debris removal, building's content and equipment, water control facilities, parks and rec facilities, among others.
