WABASH, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Testimony from one of the prosecution's star witnesses, did not provide a "smoking gun" linking Scott Pattison to the murder of his wife.

The alleged mistress of Pattison spent all Wednesday afternoon on the witness stand.

The speculation was that Henderson's testimony would really hurt Scott Pattison’s defense. In fact in may have helped Pattison's cause in a way.

Stacy Henderson was granted immunity before she told jurors. She and Scott Pattison started an affair while she was working for the mayor of Marion back in 2007.

She said that they talked about leaving their respective spouses but she was on a Florida vacation with her husband on July 2nd, 2009 when Pattison sent her a text message that read '911".

In the follow-up text and phone conversation she learned Lisa Pattison had died that day.

Scott Pattison told her he returned home to find Lisa on a weight bench with a weight bar across her throat.

Stacy Henderson communicated with Pattison from Florida over the next four days telling him not to text or talk to anyone else about what happened. But a transcript of text messages never produced any evidence that Scott tried to kill his wife that day.
