Alcohol A Factor In Fatal Ligonier Accident

LIGONIER, Ind. (21Alive) – A man is dead and another hospitalized after a crash in Ligonier.

The Noble County Sheriff’s Department says it happened Saturday evening.

Deputies say Oscar Rodriguez, 24, of Cromwell, was headed east on Morton St. when he lost control of the car. He drove off the street, through a ditch and hit a tree. Authorities say he died at the scene.

One passenger, Karol Rodriguez, 21, of Cromwell, was flown to a Fort Wayne hospital with upper body and leg injuries. Her condition is unknown.

Deputies say the believe alcohol is a factor in the crash.
