STEUBEN COUNTY, Ind. (21Alive) – Police suspect alcohol may be the reason behind a man flipping his truck and striking a utility pole.

The Steuben County Sheriff’s Department says the accident happened just after 4:30 p.m. Sunday in the front yard of 5380 N. 450 W.

Authorities say Jeffery Haupt, 34, of Coldwater, Mich., went off the roadway and hit a large rock causing his pick-up to flip and hit a utility pole.

Haupt was taken to a local hospital with face and head injuries. Authorities say Haupt was wearing a seatbelt.

The accident remains under investigation.
