FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) -- He's a Fort Wayne native now residing in Oregon but he's back in the area on his journey across the country.

Sam Hopkins Hubbard, 52, has been travelling since April across the country with a team of horses. His journey originally started in Milton-Freewater, Oregon and he plans to make it to the Atlantic Ocean.

Hubbard decided to make the journey from the Pacific to the Atlantic to call attention to the divisive nature of our country. He believes petty squabbles and wedge issues have divided the country and that people now have a hard time compromising or putting their issues aside.

Hopkins is currently visiting a relative in Huntertown for a few days before he gets back on his adventure.
