Fort Wayne, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) - Hundreds of women gathered at The Allen County War Memorial Coliseum Friday for the eleventh annual Tapestry: A Day for You.

Sissy Spacek was the keynote speaker for the event this year. The Academy Award winning actress is very accomplished in her career, but she's also someone who prides herself on putting family first. For that reason her message to the 1,700 women at Tapestry focused on that balancing act.

Sissy says it's key to always remember what's important in your life. She cited her recent memoir and said writing that helped her realize what was most important to her in life, and it came back to her family.

But when her children were younger, and her career was keeping her busy she said she was always worried about having enough time in the day.

"When I was working on location I would worry about the parent teacher meeting I was missing. And when I was in the carpool line I was worried I'd never work again. So I think we all just do the best we can and sometimes things, you know, we don't do as well in some things and you know it's a balancing act," said Sissy Spacek, Academy Award Winning Actress.

Along with being a great way to get women together and share inspirational stories one of the main goals of Tapestry is to raise money for scholarships at IPFW. This year the organizers expect to bring in about $80,000 and half of that will be used for scholarships.
