ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - It looks like school closings and job cuts are inevitable in the East Allen County school district.
Five proposals are on the table to revamp the school system.
Each calls for closing some schools and cutting dozens of jobs, which could save up to $9 million.
Some of the plans include building new schools.
The proposals are based on state funding cuts and projections that East Allen will lose about 1,000 students by 2019.
The East Allen Board is expected to vote on a final plan this fall, which could be implemented for the 2011 - 2012 school year.
