FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - If you have lived in or around Fort Wayne for the last four years then you have known for awhile now that Luers Senior Deshaun Thomas was in an elite class of hoops stars.
Thomas has been named this year's Indianapolis Star Indiana Mr. Basketball winning 189 votes from the media and coaches, while North Central's Terone Johnson only gathered 41.
The list of accomplishments is lengthy for Thomas, He's also a McDonald’s All-American and recently named to the Parade Magazine All-American Home Team.
The local hardwood hero says, “Man, it's like Deshaun Thomas, he's up there finally. It just feels real great and I'm just happy I'm Mr. Basketball."
Thomas moves to Columbus, Ohio in June to begin his college basketball career at Ohio State.
