MONROEVILLE, Ind (www.incnow.tv) -- An 86-year-old man was found floating in a pond Saturday evening in Monroeville.

The Allen County Coroner's Office released that the cause of death of Russel K. Johnston was asphyxia consistent with drowning. Emergency workers pulled Johnston from the waters and performed CPR before he was taken to Lutheran Hospital.

According to an obituary he died just before 7 p.m. at the hospital. He coached Little League baseball beginning in the 1950s and served in WWII.

The landowner of the pond where Johnston was found told our partner in news, The Journal Gazette, that her son found Johnston after noticing his truck parked nearby.
