74-Year-Old South Whitley Woman Found Dead In A Pond By Family

WHITLEY COUNTY, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) -- A 74-year-old Alzheimer's sufferer was found by family dead in a pond near her apartment.

Sunday at 10:50 a.m. the Whitley County Sheriff's Department received a report that a subject had been located in the water at a pond at a resident in South Whitley.

Shortly before that phone call was made, family members of 74-year-old Bonnie Knetter began to search for her after they had checked on her and found that she was not inside her apartment. Knetter suffered from Alzheimer's and a family member located her body in a pond a few hundred feet from her residence.

EMS pulled her from the pond unresponsive and pronounced her dead at the scene.
