WELLS COUNTY, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Police arrest the husband of a woman who died of gunshot wounds in a shooting in wells county Tuesday.

27-year-old Tyler White will face formal murder charges in Wells Circuit Court Wednesday morning.

Police were called to a home on 100-South just before 9:30 Tuesday morning.

When they arrived, 28-year-old Amy White was lying on the garage floor, suffering from two bullet wounds to her chest.

She was taken to the hospital where she later died.

Her husband was there at the time of the incident.

Police say the two were exchanging custody of their son who is a toddler.

The Wells County Sheriff says the couple is in the middle of a divorce and a hearing was scheduled for later in the week.

He also stated this was the first time police were called to the home.

Wells County Sheriff Bob Frantz says, “Obviously there is always some difficulities in divorce, but I don't recall any domestic calls at that location.”

The child is now in the custody of relatives as police continue their investigation.
