FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - They're expecting another big crowd at Parkview Field Friday night and unlike most other nights; the fans will be on the field.

The downtown venue is hosting it's first on field concert Friday night; over 5,000 tickets have been sold to see Christian group Mercy Me perform.

The stage will be set right behind 2nd base. The TinCaps are handling the preparations in partnership with the city and they say they're ready for a new challenge.

TinCaps V.P. Mike Limmer says, “There are some differences and there are similarities, obviously it's still an entertainment venue and there's gonna be people in the stand, but there will also be fans on the field, which usually doesn't happen, fans can go right up to the state or enjoy the music from the seats, they can do as they want.”

The south gate will open at 6:30 for the 7:30 show; there are still some tickets available.
