5-Year-Old Boy Drowns In Bixler Lake (VIDEO)

KENDALLVILLE, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) – A 5-year-old boy was pronounced dead Sunday after he was found floating in the water off the beach of Bixler Lake.

The boy, Dominic D. Slone-Lehman of Cromwell, was with his family at Bixler Lake when his father reported him missing to a lifeguard at around 5 p.m. Saturday. He was located almost immediately floating in about 5 feet of water.

He was unresponsive and lifeguards and medics performed CPR until EMS personnel arrived. He was transported to Parkview Hospital in Noble County and then flown to Parkview in Fort Wayne.

He died Sunday at 8:27 p.m. Sunday from anoxic brain injury as a result of asphyxia from drowning.
