It is the night before I depart for Africa, and the excitement, which has been building, is hitting its peak! Our trip starts Thursday morning as we drive to Chicago and meet with executives at Phonak, the largest hearing aid manufacturer in the world.
Tonight, it is all about saying goodbye to Melissa and Tommy, packing, and trying to wrap my head around the concept of being halfway around the world before the week is out. I am extremely humbled and honored to be bringing another mission trip to the people of our area, and I am truly blessed to work at 21Alive, a station that supports the broadcasting of a mission trip. A lot of places wouldn't take the risk to be behind this effort. We are going to be able to show people in our area their friends and neighbors doing great work - and I can't wait.
I will have an update from Chicago Thursday. I will have updates throughout the whole trip on Facebook and Twitter too. My television reports from Africa begin Monday!
