2-Year-Old Boy Killed In South Bend Shooting

SOUTH BEND, Ind (21Alive) -- According to FOX28, a two-year-old boy was shot and killed while playing in the front yard of his home yesterday evening.

The incident happened around 6:30 p.m. when police received a call of shots fired in the 1000 block of Campeau Street. According to family members, the boy, John Swoveland Jr., was outside in the front yard of his home playing with one of his siblings when he was shot.

According to the father, he went inside for a moment and his daughter came in to tell him that someone in a car shot his son. Investigators are currently interviewing witnesses and family members for more information. FOX28 is reporting that the father was taken in for questioning last night after the incident.
