15 Years To Life For Admitted Killer

CELINA, Ohio (www.incnow.tv) – A Mercer County man was handed a 15 years to life prison sentence after he pleaded guilty last month to the shooting death of his girlfriend.

Daniel C. Martin admitted that he shot and killed Melinda S. Shinn in his home in November 2012. Martin was also given three additional years on an accompanying gun specification.

The guilty plea by Martin states he murdered Shinn with the specification that he used a firearm at the time of the offense. Ohio law provides for the potential sentence to be imprisonment of 15 years to life for the murder offense and an additional 3 years for the weapon specification, according to officials.
