Motorcycle Broadsides Dump Truck on US 33 Causing Afternoon Traffic Back Up

ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) – Just before 1 PM Friday the Allen County Sheriff’s Department was called out to the intersection of U.S. 33 and Lamie Road, just northwest of Fort Wayne for a motorcycle vs dump truck accident that caused traffic to back up along U.S. 33.

A dump truck was traveling northbound on U.S 33 and was attempting to turn west onto Lamlie Road when the motorcycle that was following it struck the dump truck broadside during its turn.

The motorcyclist who has only been identified as a 42-year-old male from Fort Wayne was airlifted by Samaritan to a local hospital in critical condition.

The motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet. This crash remains under investigation by the Allen County Sheriff’s Department.
