FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) - A man was found dead Wednesday evening inside a car at a Fort Wayne apartment complex.

The victim has been identified as William R. Davila, 43, of Fort Wayne. The cause of death is pending.

A caller told authorities a man, who appeared to be dead, was in the car in the parking lot of McCormick Place Apartments, 2200 block of Edsall Ave.

Paramedics later declared the man dead at the scene. The Fort Wayne Police Department is investigating the death as "suspicious." It is unclear how long the body was in the car.

A neighbor tells 21Alive that the man's body appeared to be wrapped in a carpet inside the car.

Police say they have no witnesses to what may have happened, but hope to obtain surveillance video from the apartment complex that may provide clues into the man's death.

At this time, there are no suspects in the death.
