Person Injured, 2 Cats Die In McKinnie Avenue House Fire

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) - One person was injured early Wednesday morning in a house fire.

Around 1:00, the Fort Wayne Fire Department was called to 2033 McKinnie Ave.

Firefighters found flames along the side of the house.

An adult inside the home escaped, but was taken to a hospital in serious condition.

Firefighters also found two cats that died in the fire.

The fire was under control in five minutes.
