MARION, Ind. (21Alive) - The Marion Animal Care & Control center is reminding pet owners of the dangers of the bone-chilling cold on animals.
The shelter posted photos on its Facebook page of a stray dog found Wednesday suffering from extreme frostbite.

A veterinarian decided the dog's legs must be amputated at the ankles, the shelter says.
Marion Animal Care & Control reminds pet owners not to leave animals outside for prolonged periods of time.
"Its not this little mans fault," the post reads. "Lets not let him suffer."
The shelter is accepting donations to help pay for the dog's care. Call (765) 668-4491 between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. for more information.
