FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) - Fort Wayne Community Schools will take over a vacant car wash lot left behind by Kelley Chevrolet.

The school board voted Tuesday night to buy lot, 505 E. State Blvd., adjacent to North Side High School for $328,500.

North Side High School will use it for parking and to enhance the front entrance of the school.

Kelley Chevrolet moved to a new dealership near Lima Road and Interstate 69 in October.

The used car lot just east of the car wash lot is now run by Preferred Auto Group. The main building, 500 E. State Blvd., will be used for Kelley Body Shop and Midwest Auto Parts, a division of Kelley Auto Group.

Payment for the lot will come from the district's Capital Projects Fund.
