Garrett Man Killed In Crash Between Moped & Car

GARRETT, Ind. (21Alive) - A man died early Sunday morning after being hit on his moped by another car.

The Noble County Sheriff's Department says around 3:30, Brian Slone, 40, of Garrett, was riding his moped south in the northbound lanes of SR3 near SR8 when he was hit by a car heading north in the northbound lanes.

Ashley Dockery, 28, of Garrett, tells police she saw Slone and the moped and attempted to stop, but was unable to avoid the crash.

Slone was pronounced dead at the scene.

Dockery was taken to a Fort Wayne hospital with minor injuries.
