Woman Critically Injured In Winchester Road Crash (PHOTOS)

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) - A woman was critically injured Wednesday afternoon in a crash along Winchester Road.

Around 4:45, the Fort Wayne Police Department says the woman was driving her Toyota Camry eastbound in the 5800 block of Winchester, crossed the center line and hit a Chevrolet Venture.

The woman was the only one in the car, and was taken to a hospital. She is in critical condition, police report.

There were two people in the minivan, police say. It took 25 minutes to remove the driver from the van, police say. She is hospitalized with minor injuries. The passenger of the minivan also received minor injuries.

Drugs and/or alcohol likely contributed to the crash, police say.

A stretch of Winchester Road near the crash scene was closed closed during the investigation. All lanes reopened around 8:15.
