FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) - The Fort Wayne Komets will honor two of the franchise's greatest goaltenders by retiring their numbers.
Nick Boucher's No. 33 and Chuck Adamson's No. 1 will be lifted to the rafters in a pregame ceremony before the Oct. 26 home game. Boucher and Adamson will join Komets goaltender Robbie Irons (No. 30) as goalies for the distinguished honor.
Nick Boucher joined the Komets in 2007-08, and and was in the crease for four of the K's league titles. He is a former league All-Star, league Goaltender of the Year and two-time Komets Most Valuable Player.
Adamson goaltended two Turner Cup Championships in 1963 and 1965. He won the Norris Trophy as Outstanding Goaltender of the Year and was an All-Star in 1964-65. Adamson holds Komets records for fewest saves in a game (8), most saves in a season (2,268) and consecutive games played by a goaltender (176).
