WASHINGTON (www.incnow.tv) - A Carroll High School student now has a piece of artwork hanging at the U.S. Capitol.

Anneke Lehmann, who just finished her sophomore year at Carroll, won the 3rd District Congressional Art Competition with her photograph, Frozen In Time.

The photo uses a long exposure technique to show traffic driving over the Martin Luther King, Jr. Bridge in downtown Fort Wayne.

Anneke was honored at a reception at the Capitol Visitor Center on Wednesday afternoon. U.S. Rep. Marlin Stutzman, R-3rd District, was on hand to congratulate Anneke and her mother.

"It was a really amazing opportunity," Anneke wrote in an email from Washington, D.C. "We were able to hear from a lot of important people, see my art hanging in the Capitol, tour the Capitol, and meet Congressman Stutzman!"

Frozen In Time will be on display for the next year.

The Congressional Art Competition dates back to 1982. Students submit paintings, drawings, collages, photoraphs, multimedia and computer artwork to their U.S. representative's office, and panels of artists narrow down the entries from there.

Anneke and her mother plan to return to Fort Wayne on Thursday.
