INDIANAPOLIS (www.incnow.tv) - Lakewood Park Christian High School won its second consecutive IHSAA 1A Softball State Championship on Saturday morning.
The Lady Panthers beat Tecumseh High School, 10-3 to claim the 2013 crown.
Lakewood Park Christian was a duel threat from the opening pitch. Mikeila Boroff struck out six in seven innings on the mound.
The bats were also alive for the Panthers, who scored four of their runs in the 5th inning.
Lakewood Park Christian led the Lady Braves 10-0 in the bottom of the 6th inning, but IHSAA rules forego a ten-run mercy rule in the state championship.
Tecumseh managed to score three runs in the top of the 7th to end a shutout. The three runs were the only allowed by Lakewood Park duringmthe entire 1A tournament.
The Lady Panthers celebrated their state title Saturday night with a ceremony at the school.
