Man Sentenced for Robbing Amish

ADAMS COUNTY, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) - An Adams County man has been sentenced to the Indiana Department of Corrections for 15 years.

Alejandro Lopez, 18, is being sentenced for his role in the robbery and attempted robberies of several members of the Adams County Amish community back in September 2012.

Lopez had plead guilty earlier this year to Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery, Armed Robbery, three counts of Attempted Robbery and five counts of Criminal Confinement.

Lopez has been sentenced to the Department of Corrections for a total of 20 years; five years of the sentence is suspension to probation. Lopez will also be required to pay restitution to one of the victims for damages to a horse drawn vehicle.
