One Wounded by Apparent Gunshots (With Video)

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) - An adult man was found wounded by gunshots after officers responded to a shooting on the 4500 block of Bowser Ave. early Saturday around 4 a.m.

Police say they recieved multiple disturbance calls, each reporting they had heard gunfire. Officers arrived at the scene and located an adult male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The victim was loacted in a residence on the 4500 block of Bowser Ave. There were other occupants in the residence at the time of the shooting who reported no injuries. The victim was transported to a local hospital in critical condition, where he remains at this time.

Preliminary investigation indicates that an unknown male knocked on the door of the residence and asked for an individual inside. The victim was the subject who answered the door and the unknown male opened fire. The victim was struck by gunfire.

Investigators say there appeared to have been more than one shooter based on the evidence found at the scene. There was a gold-colored SUV seen leaving the area immediately after the shooting.

The scene is being processed by crime scene technicians for evidence and it remains under investigation.
