ANGOLA, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) - Officers responded to a crash on SR 120 eastbound to find the vehicle empty.

The driver, Jason Peet of Angola, 31, had left the scene prior to the arrival of responders and was located inside a parked vehicle at a residence approximately one-half of a mile west of the scene.

According to officials, It was observed around 11:40 Saturday night that a Ford F-150 truck, operated by Peet, had been traveling east on SR 120 and apparently failed to follow the curve at CR 585 N.

He went off the south side of the road and collided with some trees before coming to a rest.

Police say once Peet was medically cleared at the hospital, he was transported to the Steuben County jail and later booked on an initial charge of Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated (OWI).

All reports are being forwarded to the Steuben County Prosecutor's Office for review of any possible additional charges.
